Abstract: This report analyzes the dynamics of innovation activity of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria. Annual data of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria (NSI) for the period 2000-2021 were used. The results show that the number of the large, medium and small enterprises is being decreasing, while those of the micro-enterprises is being increasing. The growth rates share of the innovation-active enterprises show that the small enterprises increase the fastest. The largest share of new or improved products which are new of the market was realized of the large enterprises. The RandD expenditure growth rate fastest were increased of micro-enterprises.
