Guidelines For The Transformation Of UML Business Models

Abstract: In order to provide conditions for a more adequate utilization of object-oriented business models in the development of computer information systems, the authors define some guidelines for the transformation of UML business models into UML system models. For that purpose, first there are studied and compared the elements of these two models. Then there is analyzed the interrelation between the UML business model and system architecture, which has the principal role in the transformation of the business model into a system model. There are defined some recommendations for the identification of system actors and scenarios for interaction, for the transformation of business workers, whose responsibilities are subject to total automation, for the registration of business events in the system model. The conducted study creates the conditions for a wider use of the business model in the setting up of computer information systems, and on that basis – for the realization of the gradual transition from the business system to an automated system, and for their parallel development and sophistication.
