Abstract: In the article there is presented and approbated an approach to the analysis of the determinants of the spatial variation of age - related mortality rate of the population in Republic of Bulgaria. There has been used a specific method, which allows for the transformation of the starting information and its structuralization in a space with the lowest possible dimensionality, in which there have been sufficiently preserved the connections between the indications under study. Based on the conducted analysis the re are differentiated the territorial units, which determine the spatial asymmetry in age - related mortality rate, as well as the age intervals, predominantly contributing to its manifestation. There are formulated generalized conclusions about the force an d direction of the deviations of age - related mortality rate in the territorial units determining the spatial asymmetry in mortality rate.
