Abstract: The article is a short biographical outline about Prof. Tsani Kalyandzhiev, the initiator of the creation of the first Higher School Of Commerce in Bulgaria. He is also its first rector, who has rendered a great service for the organization of the activities, its development, for establishing the academic traditions and affirming the reputation of the school as an educational and research institution of national importance. Prof. Kalyandzhiev is a dedicated educator, a democrat, public figure and patriot, an edifying example to follow.
