The structural changes in the consumption of households determine its ability to adapt to the instability of the environment and the change in the priorities of consumer preferences under conditions of budgetary restrictions. Through the study of the fluctuations in the structure of consumption there can be followed the economic behaviour of households, applying a strategy for the protection of their own interest and its interconnectedness with the changes taking place on the consumer goods market and the conditions of the exchange.
