Abstract: The article is devoted to the issue of the optimum allocation of material flow in a logistics system, the author’s proposition being that the allocation and movement of the material flow in a logistics system can be rationalized, based on the use of special approaches and techniques. There is presented the economic formulation of the problem and is constructed the economic and mathematical model ensuring the movement of the material flow in a logistics system at minimum cost of its transportation and storage in the system. There is put forward a method for finding the optimal solution of the economic and mathematical model designed in this way and is presented its approbation on the basis of sample numerical data, through which there is shown the benefit of its actual application in the practice.
