Abstract: Although the need to assess banking risk culture increasingly comes to the attention of a number of authors, regulators and consulting organizations, studies in this area face a number of difficulties. However, they should not be regarded as insurmountable barriers to such studies, but as a starting point to defining a relevant research model. Regardless of the applied models, the final result of the analysis of risk culture should be an objective, independent and proactive assessment of the approach of the banking institution to risk and its opportunities and prospects for future action in this area.
