Abstract:
Bulgarian crop production shares a number of current global problems related to high prices of energy resources and nitrogen fertilizers, soil erosion and climate change. Bulgarian producers feel the competitive pressure of the national and international markets and are forced to optimize their factor model. More and more young entrepreneurs in the sector are applying digital solutions for more efficient use of production resources to deal with these problems. The aim of the study was to examine the competitiveness of Bulgarian crop production and to explore the possibilities of digitalization as a tool for its increase. The conducted research defined the category of competitiveness and the methods for its assessment; digitization and digital methods for creating or possessing competitive advantages and showed that the main Bulgarian crop products are competitive during the period 2014-2020.
