Abstract:
This report examines the dynamics of household cash expenditures in Bulgaria for the period 2017-2021 and their relationship to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the definition of household monetary expenditure, its theoretical foundations, scope, structure and specific characteristics are outlined. The conclusion is that the trends in the size and structure of household monetary expenditures in Bulgaria are directly related to trends in income, economic activity and unemployment. The changes resulting from the global pandemic situation provoked by COVID-19 are minor and the effect is short-lived.
