Abstract: Risk analysis remains a key element for the efficiency of customs control, allowing customs authorities to focus their controls in an environment where the increasing volume and pace of trade more than ever requires a selective and targeted approach. The trends and challenges related to the modernization of customs administrations prove the role of customs organization in the effective implementation of the process and the importance of the competence of the authorities (within the object of control). The aim of this research is to present the trends in customs risk management. In the study have been used the descriptive - analytical approach, the methods of comparison, analysis and synthesis.
