Abstract: Customs intelligence and investigation is part of the technology of customs procedures and regimes. Its proper conduct is a prerequisite for effective action by the customs authorities in a particular customs proceeding. Risk management proves to be a key element for effective customs control, relying on the data provided by customs investigation and intelligence. This mediates the relationship between the two customs control tools, making the link between them crucial to the performance of the core functions of customs administrations.The aim of this research is to present the trends in customs intelligence. In the study have been used the descriptive - analytical approach, the methods of comparison, analysis and synthesis.
