Abstract: Retailers today have a wide arsenal of technology solutions at their disposal to help them deliver a rich customer experience before, during and after the costumer sales journey. Technological solutions for self-fulfillment of commercial operations in self-service checkout areas are a well-known tool that is gaining popularity due to strategic decisions to optimize company labor costs and the growing demands for contactless shopping imposed and left as a lasting effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an evolutionary context, these technological innovations undergo continuous development and upgrading to offer an experience deployed on the complex possibilities of combining the modern achievements of information and communication technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, and the continuous challenge of stimulating their use by customers.
