Abstract:
The recent amendments to the existing accounting legislation in Bulgaria have introduced a legal sustainability reporting regulation for certain categories of enterprises which transposes the requirements set forth in Directive (EU) 2022/2464. The sustainability report should be drawn up in accordance with the newly adopted European sustainability reporting standards. The purpose of this study is to explore what types of actions have been taken by leading banks within the country to introduce sustainability reporting, as well as to outline some problem areas in reporting.
