Abstract: The urban population is constantly growing, with migration towards the big cities. As the population increases, the problems of big cities deepen - traffic, crime, pollution. As a result of the search for solutions to the problems, the concept of smart cities arose. The goal is to make life in cities more comfortable, healthy and peaceful. To achieve these goals is based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as machine learning, video image processing and neural networks. Thanks to them, many tasks related to planning, monitoring and management can be solved. The problems of cities range from solving household issues to managing infrastructures. The smart city offers some solutions in the field of traffic, environment, waste management, energy provision, intelligent transport, planning, etc. The aim of the paper is to examine the possible applications of the smart city and present a conceptual model.
