Strategic aspects of mediation in the workplace

Abstract: In the context of the sustainable development of the business organization, mediation can be successfully used as a management tool. At the workplace, it can be carried out by trained mediators (internal or external) or by managers who are trained in using mediation techniques in their practice. Mediation at the workplace can also be considered as an element of the strategic policy of the business organization, in terms of sustainable management of its internal environment. The paper comments on key aspects of mediation in the workplace, presenting examples of its application in a real business organization. On this basis, conclusions and recommendations are systematized about the benefits and risks that accompany its implementation and subsequent development in the workplace. The scope of problems that can be solved through mediation is synthesized and the opportunities for the business organization to form and develop competitive advantages through it are systematized.
