Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the results of the analysis of development trends in the world consumption of fish and fishery products and the fundamental factors shaping the volume and structure of consumption of fishery products in the last five decades. In the first part, the paper presents the volume, dynamics and structure of world consumption of fishery products, while the second part discusses the determinants of the trend of development in their consumption during this period.
