Description and course of backpacking trips depending on the nationality of the tourists

Abstract: The following article discusses the differences between backpackers and mass tourists. Its objective is to describe the nature of backpacking trips and to present the dependencies between the course of a trip, the reasons for taking the trip and the nationality of the respondents. The study is based on the results of a survey carried out among backpackers from Israel, Japan, Poland and Germany. Well-defined differences were revealed by the responses given by the Israeli and Japanese backpackers.
