Abstract: The paper deals with a methodology of designing the machine parts subjected to elastic-plastic contact conditions. Elastic-plastic contact conditions are simulated by finite element (FE) simulation. As the result, the estimation of contact loading stresses in practice can be made using contact geometry, material datasheet or tensile test.
