Abstract: In the field of product safety, common Community rules are designed, part of which is also a rapid exchange of information on consumer products that threaten health and safety of consumers - RAPEX. This thesis explains working of RAPEX and analyzes the data of the annual reports of 2008 and 2009. The next part of thesis describes The Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed that is actually one of the most important tools in ensuring food and feed safety. Its main purpose is to inform members of the system if there are products dangerous for human health on the market, to ensure a rapid action.
