Abstract:
In the German debate on retirement pensions, Austria’s policy is often referenced. The considerably higher statutory pensions in the neighbouring country arouse interest. How does Austria finance these higher pensions? How does the Austrian pension system in general differ from the German one, especially against the background of the latest pension reforms and inflation in Austria? What reform options can applied to Germany?
