Abstract:
Without sufficient countermeasures, demographic trends point to a significant increase in the shortage of skilled workers and a noticeable decline in per capita GDP growth. Higher labour force participation offers great potential to counteract this. Improved job satisfaction and work motivation can help to increase the propensity to work. Studies prove that there is a lot of potential to strengthen job satisfaction and intrinsic motivation. This article sets out the main determinants and how employers, government institutions and other participants in the labour market can help to improve job satisfaction.
