Abstract:
In view of demographic change and tight labour markets, the inclusion of people with severe disabilities in the labour market is becoming increasingly important. Based on the IAB Job Vacancy Survey, we analyse establishments’ assessments of the employment of people with severe disabilities and examine the question of which inclusion barriers still exist and which inclusion measures are considered useful. The lack of suitable tasks seems to be the main reason why establishments employ only few people with severe disabilities. When asked for measures suitable for promoting the employment of people with severe disabilities, establishments consider financial support, provision of the initial equipment and integration grants to be most helpful.
