Abstract: Gleichzeitig mit der internationalen Konjunktur verzeichnete die österreichische Volkswirtschaft 1988 einen kräftigen Aufschwung (BIP real +4,2%). Ausgelöst durch den raschen Anstieg der Exporte erfaßte er alle Nachfragekomponenten. Die Besserung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt und der mäßige Preisauftrieb erleichterten die Budgetsanierung.
