Abstract: Der Konjunkturaufschwung hielt auch im I. Quartal 1989 an. Zweistellige Zuwachsraten im Export ermöglichten eine kräftige Steigerung der Industrieproduktion. Erstmals seit 1979 weitete die Industrie ihre Beschäftigung wieder aus. Die Arbeitslosenrate war auch im April – nach dem Auslaufen günstiger Saisoneinflüsse – deutlich niedriger als im Vorjahr.
