Abstract: Der Konjunkturaufschwung blieb im Frühjahr ungebrochen. Die Aufwärtstendenz von Exporten und Industrieproduktion war zwar nicht mehr so steil wie zu Jahresanfang, die Umsätze des Einzelhandels aber stiegen sprunghaft. Trotz guter Konjunktur ging die Inflationsrate etwas zurück, weil der Kursverfall des Dollars die Importpreise drückte. Der Anstieg der Erdölpreise im Gefolge des Golfkonfliktes könnte dieser günstigen Preisentwicklung ein Ende setzen.
