Abstract: Die Kämpfe in Slowenien und Kroatien unterbrachen wichtige Verkehrsverbindungen mit Südosteuropa. Der Rückgang des österreichischen Außenhandels mit Jugoslawien beschleunigte sich, der heimische Fremdenverkehr konnte teilweise vom Ausfall des jugoslawischen Angebotes profitieren. Die grenznahen Handelsbetriebe in Österreich melden beträchtliche Umsatzrückgänge.
