Abstract: Der Bund setzt 1993 die Budgetkonsolidierung fort. Das Nettodefizit wird im Voranschlag auf 2,7% des BIP reduziert. Der Bundeshaushalt wirkt im kommenden Jahr konjunkturneutral. Der Primärüberschuß steigt von 4 Mrd. S (1992) auf mehr als 18 Mrd. S im Voranschlag 1993 und trägt so dazu bei, die Quote der Finanzschuld zum BIP bei rund 49% zu stabilisieren. Mittelfristig vergrößert diese Entwicklung den Budgetspielraum. Mehr als 20% der Ausgaben dienen als Transfers an andere Träger öffentlichen Rechts. Die Budgetkonsolidierung ist längerfristig nicht nur eine Aufgabe des Bundes, sondern des gesamten öffentlichen Sektors.
