Abstract: Nach dem Zerfall der UdSSR könnte die Türkei zu einem regionalen Wirtschaftszentrum im Schwarzmeerraum werden. Ein Freihandelsvertrag zwischen der EFTA und der Türkei tritt am 1. April 1992 in Kraft. Bis Mitte 1992 soll ein ähnliches Abkommen auch mit Israel ausgehandelt werden, das die Benachteiligung der EFTA-Länder gegenüber der EG und den USA beseitigt.
