Abstract: Die geopolitischen und technologischen Umwälzungen der neunziger Jahre stellen die Wirtschafts- und Regionalpolitik eines Landes vor neue Herausforderungen. Das WIFO entwirft für Kärnten ein Wirtschaftskonzept, das an den Wettbewerbsstärken und -schwächen der Kärntner Industrie ansetzt und vom Grundsatz einer offensiven, strategischen Strukturpolitik für die gesamte Wirtschaft ausgeht. Das Instrumentarium stützt sich insbesondere auf eine Strategieförderung und eine standortgestaltende Regionalpolitik.
