Abstract: Im internationalen Vergleich ist der österreichische Beitrag zur Osthilfe beträchtlich: Einem Anteil am OECD-BIP von etwa 1% steht ein Anteil an den bilateralen Zusagen an die Oststaaten von 2,2%, an Osteuropa von fast 5% gegenüber. Österreichs Osthilfe (Zusagen 1992: 11,4 Mrd. S, Auszahlungen 5,7 Mrd. S) bestand vor allem in Schuldenerleichterungen für Polen, Exportkrediten sowie Investitionsgarantien. Maßnahmen mit einer Multiplikatorwirkung sind gering dotiert. Die technische Hilfe umfaßte nur 841 Mill. S; der Großteil entfiel auf den Öko-Fonds.
