Abstract: Österreichs Importe aus Ost-Mitteleuropa (CSFR, Ungarn, Polen) nahmen zwischen 1989 und 1992 um 48% zu. Die Einfuhr von Fahrzeugen und Konsumwaren stieg – von niedrigem Niveau aus – auf das Fünffache, 1992 entfiel fast ein Drittel der Importe auf diese beiden Warengruppen. Auf eine Ausweitung der Importe aus dem Osten reagieren vor allem solche Märkte sensibel, die bisher relativ gut gegenüber dem Ausland abgeschirmt waren.
