Abstract: Infolge des Konjunkturrückschlags, aber auch der Einführung des Pflegegeldes erhöhte sich 1993 die Sozialquote neuerlich und erreichte 29,2%. Das stärkste Ausgabenwachstum verzeichnete der Bund in der Arbeitslosenversicherung. Mäßig entwickelten sich dagegen die Ausgaben in der Pensionsversicherung. Hier werden neuerdings auch dämpfende Struktureffekte wirksam.
