Abstract: Nachwirkungen veränderter Währungsparitäten und ein restriktiver Kurs der Budgetpolitik dämpfen das Wirtschaftswachstum. Im Durchschnitt 1996 sollte es aber nicht unter 2% sinken. Wichtigste Stütze der Inlandskonjunktur sind die privaten Investitionen. Sie tragen dazu bei, Österreichs internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu stärken und so die – heuer deutlich passive – Leistungsbilanz künftig zu entlasten.
