Abstract: Die Dynamik der Industrie prägt weiterhin das regionale Muster des Wirtschaftswachstums. Sachkapitalintensive Industriezweige und damit Standorträume mit traditioneller Industriestruktur sind in der Vorleistungs- und Investitionsgüterkonjunktur begünstigt, Bundesländer mit hohem Dienstleistungsanteil bleiben zurück. Im Westen und Süden Österreichs erzielte die Wirtschaft daher im II. Quartal 1995 einen Wachstumsvorsprung gegenüber der Ostregion von 1,6 bzw. 1,4 Prozentpunkten.
