Abstract: Die Interaktion zwischen technischem Fortschritt und Innovation ist ein mit unterschiedlichsten Ansätzen analysiertes – und mit unklaren Handlungsanweisungen für die Wirtschaftspolitik verbundenes – Forschungsgebiet. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht diese Beziehung auf der Unternehmensebene anhand des Technologie- und Innovationstests des WIFO. Insgesamt zeigt sich, daß vor allem (erfolgreiche) Produktinnovationen, wachsende Märkte und eine ausreichende Finanzierungsbasis eine positive Wirkung auf die Beschäftigungsentwicklung ausüben.
