Abstract: Nach der deutlichen Verteuerung 1994 und 1995 wird die schwächere Expansion der Industrieproduktion in den OECD-Ländern einen Nachfragerückgang und damit eine Abflachung der Preisentwicklung von Industrierohstoffen (auf +3%) bewirken. Einzelne Rohstoffe verteuern sich aber auch 1996, etwa Nickel aufgrund von Produktionsengpässen oder Zinn aufgrund der Angebotsdisziplin der wichtigsten Produzenten. Nach Rekordernten werden die Baumwollpreise deutlich sinken; die Preise von Schnittholz stehen unter dem Eindruck der schlechten Wohnbaukonjunktur.
