Abstract: Die im WIFO-Investitionstest erfaßten Unternehmen investierten 1996 kräftig und wollen ihre Investitionen auch 1997 ausweiten. 1996 war der stärkste Anstieg in der Industrie und im Bereich der Verkehrsbetriebe zu verzeichnen, 1997 wird die Elektrizitätswirtschaft ihre Investitionen am deutlichsten ausweiten, während die Bauwirtschaft eine drastische Einschränkung plant. Die Industrie rechnet 1997 mit einer Steigerung der Umsätze um rund 4½%, sodaß ein reales Wachstum von 2½% realistisch erscheint.
