Abstract: Die im WIFO-Investitionstest erfaßten Unternehmen weiteten ihre Investitionen 1996 überdurchschnittlich aus. 1997 ist eine nominelle Steigerung um 8% gegenüber dem Vorjahr geplant. Die Industrie erwartet 1997 um 5% höhere Umsätze als 1996, eine reale Zuwachsrate von 3% ist damit durchaus realistisch. Die Industrieinvestitionen werden real um 4% steigen, während die Bauwirtschaft nur eine geringfügige reale Erhöhung plant. Die Investitionspläne der Elektrizitätswirtschaft sind sehr optimistisch, erfahrungsgemäß werden diese Ansätze aber im Jahresverlauf stark nach unten revidiert.
