Beschäftigungstendenzen im Telekommunikationssektor

Abstract: Die Liberalisierung des Telekommunikationsmarktes wird als wichtiger Schritt zur Verwirklichung der Informationsgesellschaft gesehen und damit auch als Voraussetzung, daß das Potential neuer Arbeitsplätze im Informationssektor genutzt wird. International haben freilich Telekommunikationsbetreiber und Ausrüstungsgüterhersteller bisher die Beschäftigung reduziert, einzig im Dienstleistungssektor waren Zuwächse zu verzeichnen. In Österreich ist die Ausgangssituation dagegen relativ günstig, da der bisherige Monopolist PTA relativ wenige Arbeitsplätze abbauen wird, während bei alternativen Infrastrukturanbietern, im Mobilbereich und bei Kabel-TV-Unternehmen deutliche Beschäftigungszuwächse zu erwarten sind.
