Abstract: Der Lebensstandard eines Industriearbeiters erhöhte sich in den letzten 30 Jahren um 2,2% pro Jahr. Gleichzeitig ging die Arbeitszeit um fast 30% zurück. Die Realeinkommensgewinne werden anhand der Arbeitszeit veranschaulicht, die ein Industriearbeiter 1970 bzw. 2000 aufwenden musste, um bestimmte Waren kaufen zu können.
