WIFO Monatsberichte (monthly reports), 2002, vol. 75, issue 1, 53-59

Abstract: Wirtschaftspolitische Diskussionen betonen vielfach die zentrale Rolle von Information und Wissen für den Strukturwandel. Mit dem Schlagwort "Informationsgesellschaft" wurde anfänglich die verstärkte Anwendung neuer Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien in den Vordergrund gestellt. Neuere Ansätze orientieren sich weniger an den Folgen der Verbreitung dieser Technologien als am Grundverständnis von Innovation als interaktivem Lernprozess (z. B. "wissensbasierte Ökonomie"). Konsequenterweise zielt eine breiter angelegte innovationspolitische Praxis auf die Unterstützung der Fähigkeiten zum Aufbau neuen Wissens und die Stimulierung des Austauschs von Wissen ab.
