Abstract: In the second quarter of 2019, Austrian GDP grew by 0.3 percent compared to the previous period (after +0.4 percent in the first quarter of 2019 and +0.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018). Although the expansion of previous years continued, it has slowed continuously since the beginning of 2018. The positive development of the real economy continues to be reflected in the labour market in the form of an increase in employment and a decline in unemployment. Inflation has recently slackened.
