Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, 2025, vol. 32, issue 5, 7028-7047

Abstract: In the context of corporate social responsibility (CSR), diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are increasingly perceived as drivers of ethical governance, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable operations. Within operations and supply chain management (OSCM), the existing literature is focused on the representation of gender and cultural diversity within organizations and across supply chains and its implications for business performance. However, the critical CSR‐related aspects, such as equitable access to resources and opportunities (equity) and fostering inclusive work environments that foster participation (inclusion), remain unexplored. These dimensions are vital not only for social sustainability but also for enhancing operational efficiency. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) of 115 studies to examine DEI scholarship in OSCM contexts. Through content analysis, it develops a theory‐informed conceptual framework and proposes research propositions. The study advances the understanding of DEI as a strategic CSR imperative and provides directions for future research on socially responsible operations and inclusive supply chain practices.
