Abstract:
This study explores the impact of environmental concern on environmental sustainability intentions among immigrant family‐owned SMEs in the UAE, with a focus on the mediating role of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) variables and the moderating influence of ethical ideology. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, data from 270 immigrant entrepreneurs were analyzed using PLS‐SEM. The results revealed that TPB constructs (attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control) partially mediated the effect of environmental concern on environmental sustainability intentions. Furthermore, ethical idealism enhanced the positive relationship between attitude and subjective norms and environmental sustainability intentions. However, it weakened the connection between perceived behavioral control and these intentions. This study provides valuable insights into the dynamics influencing environmental sustainability in immigrant‐led family businesses, offering implications for both theory and practice in fostering a sustainable business landscape.
