Regulation of Securities Trading (MiFID) and The Evolution of Exchanges, Clearing & Settlement

Sir Adam Ridley

Financial Markets, Institutions & Instruments, 2008, vol. 17, issue 1, 121-136

Abstract: In this paper the author reflects on two major families of market development and regulatory change, both of which lie at the heart of our capital markets: the creation of an integrated securities trading market through MiFID; and the swift evolution in exchanges and post‐trade institutions which set in around the beginning of the new millennium.
