Econometric Models of Minerals Markets Uses and Limitations

Abstract: The article presents a broad non‐technical survey of econometric minerals and metals market models. The paper discusses a basic model and its extensions. It identifies weaknesses and strengths of the econometric approach, and discusses the potential of econometric models for minerals policy analysis and forecasting.
