Stock level distributions for (s,S) inventory problems

Abstract:
The transient probability distribution for the stock level is found for the (s,S) inventory model. An integral equation is obtained for the stock level distribution from the state equations. The integral equation is solved in terms of a parameter, which is obtained by solving a renewal type equation. The steady‐state results are then obtained from the transient solutions.
