The single server queue in discrete time‐numerical analysis IV

Abstract: The nonlinear difference equation for the distribution of the busy period for an unbounded discrete time queue of M|G| 1 type is solved numerically by a monotone iterative procedure. A starting solution is found by computing a first passage time distribution in a truncated version of the queue.
