Abstract:
This paper discusses some queuing problems that arise in the context of the maintenance of a group of machines, each of which is operated intermittently and all of which are subject to several kinds of malfunctions. A general formulation of this problem is made and the general method of solution indicated. A class of solutions in form suitable for direct computations is given. As a special case, a solution is given to the case of mj repairmen of type j, j = 1, …, k for a group of fully utilized machined.
