Renewal‐theoretic analysis of a two‐bin inventory control policy

D. P. Gaver

Naval Research Logistics Quarterly, 1959, vol. 6, issue 2, 141-163

Abstract: Renewal theory is used to derive the stationary distribution of inventory present at a stocking point characterized by stationary compound Poisson demand, independent and generally distributed lead times, impatient customers, and the use of a two‐bin ordering rule. Inventory‐associated costs are evaluated, and a numerical example is given.
